Body Alignment in Rotterdam

Understand how your body is organized in movement and develop greater awareness of alignment, balance, mobility and coordination through personalized movement training.

What is Body Alignment?

Body alignment is about how different parts of your body relate to each other when you stand, walk and move.
It is not simply about having “perfect posture” or holding your body in a fixed position.
Your feet, legs, pelvis, spine, shoulders and head are constantly adapting as you move. Alignment changes with movement, and the way one part of the body moves can influence another.
At Odori Body Balance in Rotterdam, we explore alignment as part of the way you move rather than as something that needs to be forced into place.
The goal is to develop greater awareness of how your body is organized and how you can move with more control and ease.

Understanding Your Individual Alignment

There is no single alignment that is perfect for every person.
Bodies are different, and people develop different movement habits through work, sport, daily activities and life experience.
At OBB, we begin by observing how you move.
We look at your individual patterns and explore where movement feels natural, where you may use unnecessary effort, and how different parts of your body work together.
From there, exercises are selected according to what you need.
The process is personal and exploratory. You are not simply told how you should stand or move.
You learn to notice your own body and develop a better understanding of how you move.

Who is Body Alignment Training For?

Body Alignment training can be suitable for adults who want to understand their movement more clearly and develop greater awareness and control.
It may be particularly interesting if you:

feel that your posture or movement habits could be improved
notice that one side of your body moves differently from the other
feel stiff or restricted during everyday movement
spend many hours sitting or working at a desk
want to improve your movement quality
want to maintain mobility and coordination as you get older
are interested in understanding how your body works
prefer personalized movement training rather than a conventional workout
You do not need to be flexible, athletic or experienced in exercise.
The starting point is simply understanding how you move today.
